NC State Day of Giving Results Show Strength of the Pack

NC State supporters put the university’s special fall Day of Giving theme of “stronger as a Pack” into action on Sept. 16. At the close of the day, the real-time numbers reflected 8,230 gifts totaling $23,223,425 - an increase of nearly $10 million from 2019’s Day of Giving. Donors from all 50 states strengthened the effort, which was rescheduled from March. The department of computer science also set new highs during the event, receiving 89 gifts totaling $25,610! The Black Alumni Society’s Clark-Witherspoon Scholarships Help Two Legacies Endure

BectonsOver the course of five decades, Drs. Augustus McIver Witherspoon and Lawrence Mozell Clark made history and shaped academic life at NC State and for Black students. CSC alum, Elwood Becton (BS CSC ’73) and his wife, Diane Hill Becton (BA Sociology ’73) helped highlight the Black Alumni Society's Clark-Witherspoon Scholarships at the Black Alumni Society’s 40th anniversary gala in 2019. Gilbarco has donated $5,000 to the department in support of the ePartners Program.

PayPatient has donated $5,000 to the department in support of the Sr Design Center.

Praxair (via Linde PLC) has donated $5,000 to the department in support of the ePartners Program.

Mrs. Ling Tai has donated $3,000 to the KC Tai Memorial Endowment fund.

Alum, David Perkins has donated $1,000 to the KC Tai Memorial Endowment fund.

Thanks to all who gave so generously during NC State's rescheduled '2020 Day of Giving', as the department received a record 89 gifts totaling $25,610! A special thanks go to Tony Brown and his family for their $10,000 challenge pledge gift, as well as Brendan Nolte, Steve and Ashlyn Grobman, William Johnson, Jeffrey Pfeifer and Mark and Robin Wyatt, who all made gifts valued at $1,000 or more. We also want to recognize that nearly 1/4 of the gifts (over 20) came from CSC faculty and staff!


CSC Wolf Bytes

The department welcomes Bev Porter to our Contracts & Grants team, where she will serve as the post award manager for the majority of faculty under the Center for Educational Informatics, as well as other Centers. Bev comes to us from the Center for Family and Community Engagement and she has over five years of experience working with various Centers at NC State University. She earned her MBA from Butler University and has her BS in Computer Information Systems from Purdue University.

If you are a CSC student or recent graduate (within 12 months post-graduation) and would like to receive email notifications when new jobs are posted on ePack matching your profile, you can set up your own customized job search agent to receive just the postings you desire (intern vs. full time, etc). The Alumni Association has partnered with the University Career Development Center to make ePACK available to NC State alumni. If you are a current Alumni Association member, update your online profile by visiting the Wolfpack Connect (alumni directory) and click on the ‘Update My Info’ tab on the upper right side of the page. Select the ‘Career Connections’ tab and then choose ‘yes’ beside the question, ‘Do you want access to ePACK?’

To access ePACK you must be a member of the Alumni Association and you must be an alumnus/alumnae of NC State. If you are not a member of the Alumni Association, you can join online. Once you have received an email confirming your membership, you will be able to register for access to ePACK.
