CSC Faculty Promotions Announced

The Department of Computer Science at NC State University is pleased to announce the following faculty promotions, effective fall semester, 2015:
 
Dr. Tiffany Barnes is promoted to Associate Professor with tenure.  She received her BS (1995) and MS (2000) in Computer Science and Mathematics, and her PhD (2003) in Computer Science from NC State.  Her research focuses n educational data mining, serious games for education, health, and energy, and broadening participation in computing education and research.  For more information on Dr. Barnes, click here.
 





 
Dr. Sarah Heckman is promoted to Teaching Associate Professor.  She received her BS (2004), MS (2005), and PhD (2009) in Computer Science from NC State.  Her research interests are in computer science education and software engineering.  For more information on Dr. Heckman, click here.
 







Dr. Emerson Murphy-Hill
is promoted to Associate Professor with tenure.  He received his BS in Computer Science from The Evergreen State College in 2004, and his PhD in Computer Science from Portland State University in 2009.  His research interests include advanced learning technologies, cyber security, data sciences and analytics, graphics, human computer interaction and user experience, and software engineering and programming languages.  For more information on Dr. Murphy-Hill, click here.
