"Quantum Computing in your Future"

Abstract: Quantum computing promises to enable calculations that will never be practical on classical computers. This talk will present a brief introduction to this potentially transformative technology, emphasizing how it is different from classical computing. Global trends and an anticipated technology timeline will be discussed, along with promising application areas. An overview will also be given of the IBM Q Hub at NC State and its activities.
Short Bio: Daniel D. Stancil is the Alcoa Distinguished Professor and Head of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at North Carolina State University.
