Abstract:

I have been fortunate to be educated by the best minds of both Pakistan and USA during my academic career. Also I have had the opportunity to teach in both countries. This international experience had helped me immensely to grow both personally and professionally. I was able to observe how, in a teaching environment, a few things related to the curriculum have to be tailored to specific audiences and how some other principles remain totally independent of place, date and age. The experiences translated into expertise and helped me to identify and adopt various principles along the way that have resulted in higher student learning and better retention. In the seminar I will be presenting the principles that my teaching revolves around alongside various examples of student interaction that resulted in teaching moments both for my students and myself.
