Abstract: Overview of Queensland (Australia), cooperative highly automated driving (CHAD) pilot, including the use of AI.

Short Bio: Amit leads Queensland’s Department of Transport and Main Roads’ (TMR) Cooperative and Highly Automated Driving (CHAD) pilot focussed on assessing safety benefits and impacts of introducing automated vehicles on Queensland (Australia) roads. To deliver the CHAD pilot Amit received extensive hands on training in France while building, calibrating and testing TMR’s research prototype level 4 Connected and Automated Vehicle, known as ZOE2. Amit has over 25 years’ experience directing and managing risk, assurance and Health, Safety Environment and Quality (HSEQ) management systems.
