Director of Cybersecurity Practice Joins Department of Computer Science

Laura RodgersLaura Rodgers has joined NC State as the Director of Cybersecurity Practice in the Department of Computer Science (CSC), where she will facilitate outreach with government and industry partners to advance cybersecurity education and research initiatives. Rodgers will play a key role within the Secure Computing Institute (SCI), which was created in 2019 to position NC State as a national leader in cybersecurity research and education. Read More »


Department Launches Undergraduate Concentration in Artificial Intelligence

This fall, the Department of Computer Science (CSC) launched a new Artificial Intelligence (AI) concentration for undergraduate students majoring in Computer Science. The concentration will equip students with an understanding of theoretical, conceptual and professional AI practices and enable them to use AI models to solve real-world problems. Read More »


Labcorp Speaker Series Proudly Presents Scott Labrozzi

Our special guest speaker will be Scott Labrozzi, VP of Core Media Technology and Engineering Fellow at Disney Streaming. This two-time Emmy winner holds multiple patents and is widely recognized as an expert in the streaming media industry, transforming the domain over his 30 year career. New Social Hub Opens on Centennial Campus

The CornerThe Corner is a new shared space designed as a social hub to bring the campus community together for creative collisions. The open-air space is anchored by four repurposed shipping containers providing Centennial Campus a unique outdoor seating and gathering space, in an intersection of workplace, classroom, lab and lunch spots. NetApp has donated $25,000 to the department in support of the ePartners Program and the Senior Design Center.

Salesforce has donated $5,000 to the department in support of the Senior Design Center.

Pienso has donated $5,000 to the department in support of the ePartners Program.

BAE Systems has donated $5,000 to the department in support of the ePartners Program.

Skyward Federal has donated $2,575 to the department in support of the ePartners Program.

Human Support Technology has donated $5,000 to the department in support of Dr. Noboru Matsuda’s research and teaching efforts.

An anonymous gift of $10,000 was given by the “Tucker Basement Friends of 1983 and 1984” to the department in support of the Anne-Marie and Chris Olinger Entrepreneur Scholarship Endowment.

CSC Alum, Earl Hines has donated $5,000 to the department in support of the Joyce Hatch Scholarship Endowment.

CSC Alumna, Kathy Markham has donated $1,000 to the department in support of the Alan Tharp Undergraduate Innovation Endowment.

The department welcomes Ashley Hamilton to our growing Undergraduate Advising staff as our new Undergraduate Academic Advisor! Ashley comes to us as an internal transfer, having served the past four years as an Academic Advisor in the Department of Forestry and Environmental Resources. Prior to that role, she served as the Student Services Specialist for the ECE Department. In total, Ashley has served our Wolfpack Community for the past twelve and a half years. Welcome to the team Ashley!

Personalized Job Search Agent in ePack

If you are a CSC student or recent graduate (within 12 months post-graduation) and would like to receive email notifications when new jobs are posted on ePack matching your profile, you can set up your own customized job search agent to receive just the postings you desire (intern vs. full time, etc). The Alumni Association has partnered with the University Career Development Center to make ePACK available to NC State alumni. If you are a current Alumni Association member, update your online profile by visiting the Wolfpack Connect (alumni directory) and click on the ‘Update My Info’ tab on the upper right side of the page. Select the ‘Career Connections’ tab and then choose ‘yes’ beside the question, ‘Do you want access to ePACK?’

To access ePACK you must be a member of the Alumni Association and you must be an alumnus/alumnae of NC State. If you are not a member of the Alumni Association, you can join online. Once you have received an email confirming your membership, you will be able to register for access to ePACK.
