Recruitment Events & Engagement Opportunities

The Department of Computer Science offers a number of student engagement opportunities throughout the school year, many exclusively for our ePartners.

As you plan your recruiting strategy for the coming year, ePartners are encouraged to take advantage of these very special recruitment and engagement opportunities. Note that we expect a record number of students enrolled in computer science this fall, and we will once again offer a mixture of in-person and virtual engagement opportunities, while also offering our partners custom solutions as needed.

ePartner Events & Engagement Activities

ePartners Career Connection Events – Hybrid Options for 2023/24!

September 18, 2023, 12-4P - Based on overwhelming feedback from ePartner recruiters, we will once again offer a 'virtual' Fall ePartners Career Connection event in lieu of a large 'in person' recruiting fair. The event will be offered 'free of charge' to all ePartners. It will take place using the Career Fair Plus platform, which allows companies to meet via special video conference technology with students during pre-scheduled time slots. More details on setting up your virtual presence and preferences will be shared with companies after they register via ePack.

February 5, 2024, 12-4P - This 'virtual' Spring ePartners Career Connection event is also provided 'free of charge' to all ePartners and intended particularly for anyone with 'last minute' hiring needs. Like the fall event, this will also take place using the Career Fair Plus platform. Registration via ePack.

Hybrid Options - For companies preferring traditional 'in person' recruiting events, we will be happy to reserve a day (of your choosing) in our main atrium for you and your representatives to set up a booth to interact directly with students. We can also make interview rooms available to you to facilitate private discussions and technical interviews with candidates. Schedule these with us directly.

Women in Computer Science (WiCS) Mini Career Fair

October 3, 2023, 4:30-6:30P in Hunt Library - The annual WiCS Mini Career Fair is an 'in-person' event dedicated to fostering inclusivity and diversity for women in technology careers and offered exclusively to ePartners selecting any of the WiCS-related Premium Engagement Opportunities. Engage directly with a remarkably talented pool of women pursuing both undergraduate and graduate degrees in computer science at NC State, with expertise in software development, data analytics, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and more! Build diversity in your talent pipeline as you recruit talented women in tech for your intern, coop and full-time positions. More details about this unique and powerful recruiting event will be sent directly to qualifying companies.

New Grad Student Presentations

Fall 2023: CSC600 is a required course for our 200+ new CSC graduate students, traditionally offered every Friday, 12:50 – 1:40P in the fall. Because of the size of the class, it is provided in a hybrid format and students can attend 'in person' or they can watch the 'in class' recording within one week to satisfy their attendance requirements. ePartners will have the opportunity to deliver an 'in person' presentation on any topic of their choosing (corporate culture, hiring needs, recruiting process, technical topics, etc.), and students in attendance will be provided an opportunity to ask questions and engage with presenters. ePartners who are uncomfortable with presenting in person can provide a pre-recorded presentation. Super ePartners have priority through July 31. Contact Ken Tate to reserve a slot.

Panel Discussions & Mock Interviews

These will be scheduled prior to the fall career fairs. Contact Leslie Rand-Pickett at lcrandpi@ncsu.edu to coordinate.

Info Sessions

Info Sessions can be just that, a session designed to give students a better perspective about your company and their career opportunities, or you can structure them as technical talks, workshops, panel discussions, etc. to create a buzz and excitement. ePartners & Super ePartners can work directly with us to find the optimal date, time and location. Virtual events can also be coordinated at dates and times of your choosing.

"Tech Talks"

Complete this online form to request to participate. These talks are coordinated through (and provided by) our ACM/AITP student organization, and they will evaluate all requests and issue invitations to the talks of most interest to their members. Sponsorship is complimentary for ePartners & Super ePartners, but requires a substantial donation for all other companies.

Other Unique Recruiting Events

More and more of our partners are looking beyond Info Sessions to identify new and exciting ways to engage students. Some of the creative and successful events have included "Lunch on Us", "Coffee & Bagels", "Cupcakes on Us", and "Doughnut Exam Break" events! These usually involve a table in our atrium or in the EB2 breezeway staffed with your recruiters.

Graduate Career Services Director & Suite

Leslie Rand-Pickett is our Director of Graduate Career Services. The CSC Career Services Suite recently opened in EB2 on Centennial Campus and contains two high-tech interview rooms. ePartners have priority. Contact Leslie at lcrandpi@ncsu.edu to schedule use of the interview room.

Student Email & Social Media Blasts

Weekly email blasts are sent to all CSC students listing details about all ePartner & Super ePartner events and activities on a rolling two week view. Social media blasts serve as "day of" reminders.

Weekly ePartners Profile - Once again this year, we will feature one or more ePartners on each Weekly email blast. Just provide us a short profile with key messages, target students, recruiting dates to remember, links, etc., and we will work on a schedule to help promote your company and career options.

Profile Page

A resource available to all Super ePartners is a 'profile page' on our ePartners Web Site – a special dedicated page that sits between our site and yours detailing your company’s partnership, recruiting interests, and special content, messages, and links. More info can be found here.

ePack Job Posting & Resume Database

All ePartner postings on our jobs board are color-coded and placed at the top of the page by default. ( See current listings.) The board regularly features 500+ job postings. ePartners may request a customized Resume Book with CSC students who meet your specifed selection criteria. Request access to your customized book through Leslie Rand-Pickett (lcrandpi@ncsu.edu.) For anyone who might not have an ePack account, contact Leslie or contact our CDC prime, Kelly Laraway (kelly_laraway@ncsu.edu) directly and she will ensure that you are set-up properly.
