Bio

Tim MacNeil is the Undergraduate Lab Coordinator in the Department of Computer Science at NC State University. He manages the lab spaces for the department’s service-level courses located in the Monteith Research Center and oversees the hiring, training and supervision of teaching assistants who support those courses.

MacNeil earned both his B.S. in Mathematics Education and M.S. in Statistics from NC State. Before returning to the university, he served as Associate Director of the Academic Skills Center at Vance-Granville Community College for five years and as Associate Director of an after-school program for advanced mathematics for two years. In both roles, he supported students across a range of skill levels and mentored new educators.

He brings a strong background in teaching, academic support and educational program coordination to his work with undergraduate computer science instruction.
