Bieringer CSC Nominee for Faculty Senior Scholarship Award

Congratulations to Alicia Bieringer, a senior majoring in computer science at NC State University, for being named the Computer Science Department nominee for the College of Engineering Faculty Senior Scholarship Award.

The Faculty Senior Scholarship Award is one of the most prestigious undergraduate awards in the College of Engineering.  Each year, every department in the College nominates one candidate to compete for the award.  The nomination itself is an important recognition of a student's outstanding academic, extra-curricular, and community achievements.

Bieringer is enrolled in the Accelerated Bachelor’s/Master’s Program in computer science, and currently has a 3.94 average.  She is a member of the Alpha Omega Epsilon professional engineering sorority, and an officer of the Society of Women in Engineering.  She has co-oped at Sony Ericsson performing software verification, and is currently interning at SAS Institute as a technical student in R&D.

After graduation Bieringer hopes to stay with SAS because of her strong interests in database programming and design.

Please join us in congratulating Ms. Bieringer on this outstanding honor within the department.
