Antón Re-elected to CRA Board

Dr. Annie Antón, professor of computer science at NC State University, has been re-elected to a three-year term on the Computing Research Association (CRA) Board of Directors.  Her new term will begin on June 17, 2009.

The Computing Research Association  (CRA) is an association of more than 200 North American academic departments of computer science, computer engineering, and related fields; laboratories and centers in industry, government, and academia engaging in basic computing research; and affiliated professional societies.

The CRA Board of Directors is widely recognized as a distinguished group of leaders in computing research from academia and industry.  Members of the CRA Board are elected by the chairs and heads of over 200 computer science and computer engineering academic departments across North America.  Representatives from each of the affiliated professional societies (e.g. ACM, IEEE) also are appointed to serve on the board.

CRA's mission is to strengthen research and advanced education in the computing fields, expand opportunities for women and minorities, and improve public and policymaker understanding of the importance of computing and computing research in our society.
