Annual Game Development Showcase Set for April 25th

On April 25, 2008, students from Computer Science and Industrial Design will be hosting the annual Computer Game Development Showcase, an end-of-semester event highlighting the collaborative, team-based projects of computer science and industrial design students working to create computer games.  The showcase starts at 8 pm in Burns Auditorium, located in Kamphoefner Hall on NC State's Historic Campus (links to directions and parking information below).

The showcase will open with brief presentations made by each of four game development teams composed of students from Computer Science's Advanced Game Development course and Industrial Design's 3D Game Development Studio.  After each team describes the process and product of their semester's work, students, faculty and guests will adjourn to the adjacent hall for a reception where the teams will give hands-on demos of their games and answer questions about the games' design and technologies.  Pizza will be served.

This year's showcase highlights four game development projects:

  • Beating Heart Studio's Deliver Us From Evil
  • Catlyst Studio's Compound Reaction
  • Meltdown Studio's Meltdown: Xtreme Luge
  • Unus Studio's Enyara
