Wang Receives ACM / IEEE-CS High Performance Computing PhD Fellowship

Congratulations to doctoral candidate Chao Wang!

Wang was one of three students in the nation to receive an ACM / IEEE-CS High Performance Computing PhD Fellowship.

Wang will receive a $5,000 grant and $2,000 for travel to the International Conference for High Performance Computing, Networking, Storage and Analysis (SC conference) each year. This award is renewable for two years.

Wang is performing research on Fault-Tolerant Middleware Protocols in collaboration with Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

The ACM / IEEE-CS HPC PhD Fellowship Program honors exceptional PhD students throughout the world with the focus areas of High Performance Computing, Networking, Storage and Analysis.  HPC covers the areas of computational sciences, computational engineering, and computer science using the most powerful computers available at a given time. The ACM / IEEE-CS HPC PhD Fellowship Program also supports a long-standing commitment to workforce diversity and encourages nominations of women, minorities and all who contribute to diversity.

Wang is advised by Dr. Frank Mueller.
