Network Appliance Establishes New CSC Scholarship Endowment

The NC State University Department of Computer Science is very proud to announce the creation of the Network Appliance Scholarship Endowment, a new merit-based scholarship which will support future generations of computer science students.

The new scholarship endowment was made possible through of a generous contribution from Network Appliance (NetApp), a Super ePartner with a long history of active engagement and collaboration with the department.

According to local executive, Ken Hibbard, NC State is one of NetApp’s top sources for new grad talent, and should continue to be so as their local operation continues to grow.  Hibbard comments that Net App is very pleased to be able to do something that will help NC State’s computer science students now, and forever more.

This is the department’s 15th named endowment, and eighth specifically created to provide scholarship funding for computer science students.

More importantly, this endowment is the second in the “40@40 Campaign”, a special campaign designed to help the department commemorate its milestone 40th Year by increasing its endowments by 40% in 2007.  While a very ambitious goal, this embodies the bold and transforming support required to position our department among the very elite computer science departments in the nation.
