Ma Receives DOE Early Career Primary Investigator Award

Photo of Dr. MaDr. Xiaosong Ma, assistant professor of computer science, has been awarded the prestigious Early Career Primary Investigator Award by the U.S. Department of Energy in support of her research proposal titled "Runtime DataManagement for Data-Intensive Scientific Applications". The award, valued at $300,000, will run from August 15th of this year through August 14, 2008.

DOE Early Career Primary Investigator Awards are one of the highest honors given to young university faculty in science and engineering, and are the DOE's equivalent of the NSF's Career Award.
