Chirkova Receives NSF Career Award for Adaptive Automated Design of Stored Derived Data Research

Chirkova, assistant professor of computer science, who recently received a Faculty Early Career Development (Career) Award from the National Science Foundation (NSF), effective August 1, 2005, through June 31, 2010. The NSF will provide $489,810 in funding over the next five years to support Chirkova’s research project entitled, "Career: Adaptive Automated Design of Stored Derived Data."

NSF Career Awards are one of the highest honors given to young university faculty in science and engineering. With Chirkova’s award, she becomes the 14th CSC faculty member to have been recognized with this prestigious award.
