CSC Department Congratulates 2022 CSC Graduate Awards Recipients

The annual CSC Graduate Awards recognize excellence in research, teaching and leadership among our graduate students, Students are nominated by faculty, and recipients of the awards receive a plaque and a $500 cash award. To be nominated, students must be in good standing, meet the eligibility criteria, and have submitted their academic progress reports for the academic year in which the nomination is submitted.

 

The Outstanding TA Award, awarded to Kai Presler-Marshall, recognizes superior contributions by Graduate Teaching Assistants in the classroom or lab. It is awarded to students who exhibit an in-depth knowledge of the subject taught, enthusiasm for teaching, superb communication skills, responsiveness and availability to students, quantified through teaching evaluations and student comments.

 

The Outstanding Research Award, awarded to Samiha Marwan, recognizes a Doctoral student with outstanding research contributions through publications, best paper awards, artifacts, invention disclosures, and research presentations.

 

The Outstanding Dissertation Award, awarded to Onkar Patil, recognizes and encourages exceptional research and writing, and impact on the field by a Doctoral Student. The recipients of this award exhibit originality, novelty and creativity, scholarly excellence, and contribute significantly to the field.

 

The Masters Research Award, awarded to Chaitanya Bandikatla, recognizes a Masters student with outstanding research contributions through publications, best paper awards, artifacts, invention disclosures, and research presentations.

 

The Graduate Student Leadership Award, awarded to Amy Isvik, recognizes graduate student leaders who have made a positive difference through their leadership skills, impact, and engagement and efforts in their scholarly work, the department, campus, and community.
