ACM chapter wins Outstanding Community Service Award

The North Carolina State University Student Chapter of the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) received the Outstanding Community Service Award in the national association's 2003-04 Student Chapter Excellence Awards program.

The local chapter, in the College of Engineering's Department of Computer Science, received the honor based on its Henderson Middle School computer renovation project. Joyce Hatch and Carol Miller, computer science lecturers, are faculty advisors of ACM and the Association of Information Technology Professionals (ACM/AITP).
