Xie Receives Award to Study Mobile Application Testing
Dr. Tao Xie, associate professor of computer science at NC State University, has been awarded $20,000 by the Fujitsu Lab of America, Inc. to support his research proposal titled “Automated Inter-Application Testing of Mobile Applications.”The award will run from January 1, 2013 through March 31, 2013.
Abstract: Inter-application interaction on traditional desktop platforms is limited. In contrast, the mobile ecosystem encourages inter-application collaboration and reduces developer burden by facilitating component reuse. This research project develops an automatic technique to systematically explore and represent in a model the inter-application interactions of a given mobile AUT. Such model can be used as a basis for subsequent inter-application interaction testing of the AUT.
