Xie Named Sigma Xi Outstanding Young Researcher

Dr. Tao Xie, assistant professor of computer science at NC State University, has been selected to receive the Sigma Xi Faculty Research Award.  He is the first recipient from the Department of Computer Science.

Sigma Xi was designed to recognize outstanding young researchers, and to encourage and reward excellence in scientific research.  Accordingly, each year the NC State Chapter honors the excellent accomplishments of a talented young researcher with the Faculty Research Award.

The award will be presented at the Sigma Xi initiation and awards banquet on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at NC State’s McKimmon Center.
