What I plan to do after graduation: I have worked at Cisco as a technical undergraduate intern related to software engineering. Though I am not sure what specific career path I will take after graduation, there are many different paths available with a computer science major and I’m excited to see where I end up!

Why I Love Computer Science: My first exposure to programming was in high school on our robotics team. My senior year we were a very small group and no one knew how to code. I stepped up because it was an interesting challenge to me. I remember figuring out how to program a simple turn to one joystick command and being so excited about it! That’s when my interest was piqued, but I didn’t believe (yet) I could have a career out of it or even have it as my college major. When I came to NC State, I was not in the college of engineering, but second semester I took the intro level java course. I CODA’d that summer. The excitement I felt completing such a small programming task never really left me. That’s why I love computer science, even though it challenges me, it brings me joy.
