What I plan to do after graduation: I plan to pursue a career in video game development with a focus on level design and character animation.

Why I Love Computer Science: Initially I wanted to be a Mechanical Engineer and came to NC State to major in it, but after doing an apprenticeship I knew it was not the career for me. I came across the Computer Science department and noticed they had a video game development concentration. I loved playing video games since I was a child and thought I could try making them for a change. After taking an intro to Java class and joining the video game development club I was confident I made the right choice. I enjoyed the satisfaction I felt when my code finally worked as well as the creativity that went into designing gameplay and character mechanics. What I love most about Computer Science is that it’s very flexible and you can pretty much apply it to any career you want. I’m glad to have chosen such a versatile major and am excited to apply what I learn to my future endeavors.
