Congratulations Fall 2023 CSC Graduates!

Fall 2023 CSC GraduatesCongratulations to all our graduates honored during the department’s Fall 2023 Diploma Ceremony on December 16th in historic William Neal Reynolds Coliseum. This year’s graduating class of nearly 200 students included 21 PhD, 50 MS, and 124 BS degree recipients. The keynote address was provided by NC State alumnus, Strategic Advisory Board member, and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Pendo - Chuck Kesler. Read More »


Wujie Wen Receives William J. McCalla ICCAD Best Paper Award

The NC State Computer Science Department congratulates Dr. Wujie Wen, Associate Professor of Computer Science, for co-authoring a paper that was recently awarded the William J. McCalla ICCAD Best Paper Award in the Backend Category at the 2023 42nd ACM/IEEE Conference on Computer-Aided Design (ICCAD). The paper, “Improving Realistic Worst-Case Performance of NVCiM DNN Accelerators Through Training with Right-Censored Gaussian Noise,” was co-authored by Wen’s collaborators from the University of Notre Dame: Zheyu Yan, Yifan Qin, X. Sharon Hu, and Yiyu Shi. The paper was entered in the competition alongside 750 other submissions. Read More »

Select Departmental Gifts & Support

Deutsche Bank has provided $5,000 to the department in support of the Senior Design Center Program.

Truist has provided $7,500 to the department in support of the Aspirations Scholarship Program.

Mr & Mrs Chris Olinger have donated $6,000 to the department in support of the Anne-Marie and Chris Olinger CSC Entrepreneur Scholarship.

Mrs Ling Tai has donated $3,000 to the department in support of the Dr. K. C. Tai Memorial Endowment Fund.

Mr & Mrs Ed Whitehorne have donated $1,000 to the department in support of the Whitehorne Family Entrepreneurship Scholarship in Computer Science.

Ms Sarah Hall has donated $1,000 to the department in support of the Alan Tharp Undergraduate Innovation Endowment.

Innovation Unleashed: Students Explore Data Science Research – During the Fall 2023 semester the Data Science Academy worked with the Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) to fund three OUR Research Assistants, including two from computer science – Nithya Janapati & Shiva Gadireddy. If you are a CSC student or recent graduate (within 12 months post-graduation) and would like to receive email notifications when new jobs are posted on ePack matching your profile, you can set up your own customized job search agent to receive just the postings you desire (intern vs. full time, etc). For a short video tutorial on how to create your own personalized job agent, click here.

The Alumni Association has partnered with the University Career Development Center to make ePACK available to NC State alumni. If you are a current Alumni Association member, update your online profile by visiting the Wolfpack Connect (alumni directory) and click on the ‘Update My Info’ tab on the upper right side of the page. Select the ‘Career Connections’ tab and then choose ‘yes’ beside the question, ‘Do you want access to ePACK?’

To access ePACK you must be a member of the Alumni Association and you must be an alumnus/alumnae of NC State. If you are not a member of the Alumni Association, you can join online. Once you have received an email confirming your membership, you will be able to register for access to ePACK.
