Abstract: Dr. Jim Rosswog will share his experiences from the last 20+ years in the software industry. He has experience in academia (Binghamton University), start ups (Palantir), defense (Lockheed Martin) and big tech (Google). He’s been part of the evolution from statistical based modeling to machine learning to AI. Jim has worked as a Software Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer, and an Engineering Manager (he even did a short stint in Business Development). In this talk, Jim will speak about how the industry has changed, how timing plays a huge part in success, and his transition from an individual contributor to a leader.
