Abstract: I will share the story of esports research at NVIDIA. We started with a human subject study that showed latency matters more than frame rate, which inspired Reflex, NVIDIA’s one of the most successful esports products. Since then we continued to study various aspects of gamer performance in competitive gaming: mouse sensitivity, latency reduction techniques, anti-cheat, display size effects, etc. I will overview these studies and share our perspective for future esports research.
