Computer Science Fall Diploma Ceremony Set for December 16th

Please join us as we recognize and celebrate our graduates during the NC State Computer Science Department’s Fall Diploma Ceremony on Saturday, December 16th at 4:00 p.m.  The ceremony will be held in William Neal Reynolds Coliseum on the campus of NC State University, located at 2411 Dunn Avenue, Raleigh (directions).

Approximately 190 graduates are expected to receive their degrees during the ceremony.  Our special thanks go to the NC State Engineering Foundation and the ePartners Program for their generous sponsorship of this event.

Chuck Kesler, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Pendo, will deliver the keynote address.  Throughout his 30+ year career, he has held a variety of leadership and technical roles in both cybersecurity and IT. Prior to joining Pendo in 2018, he served as CISO for Duke University Health System. His past experience also included managing Symantec’s Security Advisory Services consulting practice in the US.

Kesler received an MBA and BS in Physics from NC State University, and is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon's CISO Certificate Program. He also holds multiple security industry certifications, including the CISSP, CISM, CDPSE, and CCSK. And he is a member of the Computer Science Department's Strategic Advisory Board.

Kesler is a frequent speaker at regional and national security conferences. He is currently a member of the RSAC Program Committee, and also volunteers his time to help organize local security events with NC PaCE, BSides RDU, DefCon919, and the Raleigh ISSA chapter. He is passionate about increasing the diversity of the cybersecurity industry, and has served as an executive sponsor for Pendo's DEI program.

In addition to being an NC State graduate himself, Kesler’s wife is a graduate of the Civil Engineering program, and their son is currently a student in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
