IEEE Software and Paper Contest - Need submissions by Feb 14th

The IEEE SoutheastCon Regional Conference is coming up this year on April 8-10 in Fort Lauderdale, FL. We would love to have representatives from NCSU in the Student Paper and Software Competition. We are looking for students who would be interested in entering in the following competitions:
  1. Software Competition - We need 3 undergraduate students. The competition requires no preparation at all! (There may be meetings prior to the competition to discuss the format, etc) It is based off of the ACM programming competitions where the students are given different problems on the day of the competition in Florida. The goal is to solve as many problems in 5 hours. The competition tests skills in C, C++, and Java. You can check out the details online at http://sec05.nova.edu/programming.htm Please contact me by February 14th if you are interested.
  2. Student Paper Competition - We would like to enter 1 undergraduate student in the student paper contest. We will have a contest within NCSU to select a winner among the papers submitted to us. The papers need to be submitted to us by February 14th for consideration. The NCSU winner will be sponsored to attend and present their paper at the SoutheastCon Conference in Florida! The paper can be about anything technical...something about a co-op, research, senior design or anything else. The winner at the region conference can win up to $800 and possibly be published in IEEE Potentials, the student journal. You can find more details online at http://sec05.nova.edu/programming.htm
The deadlines to register are quickly approaching. Please contact the IEEE Chair (ssoora@unity.ncsu.edu) if you are interested in entering any of the competitions or or have any questions.
