Don Haile to speak at the CSC Fall 2004 Diploma Ceremony

NC State Computer Science Department fall diploma ceremony will be held on Wednesday, December 15th at 1:30 pm in the beautiful Meymandi Concert Hall in downtown Raleigh (directions). For more information call 919-515-2859.

The ceremony speaker is Mr. Donald Haile, president of Fidelity Investments Systems Company.

Donald Haile

Don Haile is president of Fidelity Investments Systems Company, a division of Fidelity Investments, the nation’s largest mutual fund company and a leading provider of financial services. In this position, Mr. Haile is chief information officer responsible for computer operations, the Global communications networks and enterprise-wide applications support and development.

Mr. Haile is a member of Fidelity’s Management Committee and reports directly to the firm’s chairman, Edward C. Johnson 3rd. Further, he is a member of the Global Technology Board which provides company coordination for the Fidelity technology community and a member of the Fidelity Investments Ireland Board of Directors. Mr. Haile joined Fidelity in 1998 as executive vice president of Enterprise Solutions responsible for the worldwide development and maintenance of infrastructure and application products that support the processing needs of Fidelity. He managed application development laboratories in Boston, Dallas, Salt Lake City and Dublin, Ireland.

Prior to joining Fidelity, Mr. Haile had a distinguished career with IBM where he held various executive positions in hardware and software development, with responsibilities for telecommunications, systems management, and IBM operating systems.

Mr. Haile received a bachelor of arts degree in mathematics from St. Vincent College in 1963 and a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from Penn State University in 1964.
