NC Division of Employment Security Seeks to Automate Workflow

Several faculty and staff members in the NC State Computer Science Department have received $30,000 in funding from the NC Division of Employment Security (via the NC Department of Commerce) to support their project titled “Business Process Reengineering Project (NC Dept. of Commerce).”
 
Department members involved in the project include: Mr. John Streck, Director of the Institute for NEXT Generation IT Systems, Dr. Mladen Vouk, Professor, Head of the Computer Science Department, and Associate Vice Provost for Information Technology at NC State, Mr. John Bass, Director or ITng Services, and Mr. Dennis Kekas, Executive Director of the Networking Technology Institute.
 
The award ran from December 3, 2012 to January 30, 2013.
 
Abstract -The primary objective of the project is to help NCDES assess automatability of its workflows. This will lead into facilitation of NCDES’s successful participation in the Southeast Consortium for Unemployment Benefits Integration (SCUBI), and eventually into assisting NCDES in successfully implementing a new Primary Information System.
