Eric Wagner is Senior Director of the Unified Midrange Storage Solutions group. This engineering team is responsible for developing and testing storage system solutions and tools integrating with various vendor products focused on storage virtualization and cloud computing. Eric is also the Site Operations manager for EMC’s RTP Research and Development Center. This center is home to approximately 400 software engineers responsible for the development of several products in EMC’s portfolio of storage infrastructure products.
Eric, a 30 year veteran in computer and storage system engineering spent 13 years designing microprocessors, ASICs, processor boards and advanced I/O systems for Data General in Massachusetts. Moving to North Carolina in 1983, he continued his career in operating systems and storage system engineering management for Data General and EMC. Eric holds multiple hardware and software patents for his design work in I/O systems and non-uniform memory architectures.
Mr. Wagner received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering with a Computer Systems specialty from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1980. Eric is a licensed private pilot with an instrument rating and is a past Vice President of the Wings of Carolina Flying Club. Two of Eric’s children are graduates of NC State receiving degrees in Chemical Engineering and Civil Engineering.
