Opportunities for Part-time and Co-op Employment

The Cooperative Education Program (Co-op) allows a student to help pay for his/her education by alternating semesters of study and work, beginning in the Sophomore year. The extra year required to obtain a degree is more than compensated for by the salary and work experience. To be eligible for the co-op program, one must be a sophomore, have at least a 2.5 gpa and have been at NCSU at least one semester. Job opportunities through co-op are available in the Research Triangle Area, as well as throughout the state, and in other states.

For additional co-op opportunities please check the CSC On-Line Jobs Board and part-time employment listings may be obtained from the University Career Center.

Companies in the area frequently hire computer science students part-time in computer operation, data entry, and programming. A current job listing is maintained in 208 Withers Hall.

The Computer Science Department often hires students as graders, teaching assistants, and computer operators. These students work a maximum of 20 hours per week.
