What's
special about our Graduate Program?
Our nationally recognized faculty consists of over 42 tenure-track
professors as well as a number of adjunct professors and visiting lectures,
many
of which possess extensive experience in industry. Included in this
elite
group
of faculty are two Alumni Distinguished Professors, fourteen recipients
of the National Science Foundation's prestigious CAREER Award, which
go to the
nation's outstanding young faculty, and several University Outstanding
Teachers.
Graduate programs in Computer Science provide a variety of
excellent educational and research opportunities to outstanding students
from the across the U.S. and all over the world. Our Master's Degree
Program offers a variety of options for specialization including a Master's
of Science, Masters of Computer
Science (available via either distance learning or on-campus enrollment,)
and a Master's of Networking. Also, a strong P.h.D. program is available
to those students wishing to achieve and possess a heightened grade of
authority in the field of Computer Science.
All Graduate Programs within the Department of Computer Science are operated on NC State's new Centennial Campus which is adjacent to the University's Historic Campus in Raleigh, NC. The NC State Department of Computer Science now has a new building (Engineering Building II - EB II) on Centennial Campus that houses the entire department. Several corporate headquarters, research & development labs and satellite offices are nestled among NC State University teaching and research facilities on Centennial Campus. This extension of NC State was designed with the intent of building strong relationships and partnerships between the University and area industry.
Raleigh, the state capital of North Carolina, is home to NC State University and is consistently rated as one of "America's Best Places to Live." Research Triangle Park, also referred to as RTP, is the technological mecca of the East Coast that combines the needs and resources of area industry with the teaching and research capabilities of North Carolina State University, Duke University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Upon graduation, NC State students already have the advantage of close proximity to the opportunities available in this technologically oriented area.
