Undergraduate Research Awards Available

The Division of Undergraduate Affairs announces the fourth annual competition for support of undergraduate research.

For the spring semester and summer of 2004, the Division of Undergraduate Affairs is sponsoring support for undergraduate researchers and their faculty partners. While the number of awards will depend on final budget allocations, the stipend for the undergraduates is $500 per semester (spring and/or summer 2004); for faculty, the operating cost (non-salary) stipend is up to $500.

To clarify the procedures and reporting expectations, check the request for proposals (pdf) and application form (pdf). Students who are awarded stipends are expected to participate in a future Undergraduate Research Symposium, held each spring semester (see http://www.ncsu.edu/undergrad-research/).

Faculty are encouraged to identify students who are most likely to benefit from this research experiment and award. The deadline for submitting an application is 5:00 p.m. October 17, 2003 at 140 Leazar. No faxed or electronic submissions will be considered.
