Join Us this Fall for the Labcorp Speakers Series

The NC State Department of Computer Science is pleased to announce an exciting lineup for the Fall 2022 Labcorp “Leadership in Technology” Speaker Series featuring speakers from Disney Streaming, Blue Cross Blue Shield of NC, and Stanford University.


The series this fall will feature:

Scott Labrozzi, Engineering Fellow/VP Core Media Technology, Disney Streaming

Topic: “Video Processing Through the Decades: Why Innovation Never Ends


November 8, 2022 (6:30 p.m.; 1231 EB2)

Dr. Amir Bahmani, Director of Stanford’s Deep Data Research Computing Center at Stanford University

Topic: “Deep Data Needs and Challenges in Precision Medicine


Created and hosted by the NC State Department of Computer Science, the Labcorp 'Leadership in Technology' Speakers Series was created to provide students of all disciplines, as well as the extended university and business community, exposure to the unique world of leadership in technology.  Students, faculty and staff, we well as the general public, are invited to attend this year’s lectures. 


The 'Leadership in Technology' Speaker Series launched in 2007, and has become one of the premier speakers series at NC State University. The series, sponsored by Labcorp since the fall of 2021, features accomplished and highly recognizable entrepreneurs, leaders and executives to speak on a variety of technology-focused leadership topics.


All talks are scheduled to take place at 6:30 p.m. in Room 1231 at EBII (unless noted otherwise), the department's state-of-the-art research and teaching home on NC State's award-winning Centennial Campus.


Each talk will be free and open to the public. Free parking (after 5:00 p.m.) is available in the deck on Partners Way. (directions & map).


All three lectures have been approved by the CSC Graduate Oversight Committee to count toward the required lectures for graduate students.
