Local SIM Event Raises Money for CSC Scholarships

On Tuesday September 25th , the North Carolina Chapter of the Society for Information Management (NC-SIM) held its 3rd Annual Golf & Learn event at Devil’s Ridge Country Club in Holly Springs, NC.

Over 60 IT leaders and professionals, including several NC State alumni, took part in the annual fundraiser.

During a reception following the event, NC-SIM President Jon Meyer, presented Ken Tate, director of development & external relations for the NC State Department of Computer Science, a ceremonial check in the amount of $5,000.

The funds will provide for the renewal of two scholarships, valued at $2,500 each, to go to NC State CSC students, Kevin Herndon of Winston-Salem and Aaron Smith of Charlotte.

NC-SIM is a professional organization comprised of the most senior IT leaders from across the state.  It is an organization through which IT leaders can learn and grow professionally. They established the scholarship using proceeds from their highly successful golf tournament and CIO Forum events, with the intent of "giving back" to the community and helping support the next generation of technology leaders.
