Wolfwise Tools
Transend is a tool that allows you to import local email into groupwise inbox. For local email that is up to 1.5GB use this tool. For more than 1.5 GB send a request to software@ncsu.edu. For more information see http://www.ncsu.edu/wolfwise/faq/faq-general.php#local_mail
Transend msi package can be found under the it-staff admin locker /afs/eos/lockers/admin/it-staff/wolfwise/ There is also a readme file in there that includes the installation key.
M+Guardian is an Anti-SPAM/Anti-virus solution in the line of Messaging Architects GW Guardian products. M+Guardian will be used to scan all incoming Internet email for suspected SPAM, viruses, and questionable attachments before they reach the GroupWise email system. Log in to the M+ Guardian Quarantine System: Click Here (for login, use your unity ID and not your email address).

Pre-Migration
- Take a note of your Sieve filters, if any, since they will not be automatically migrated to Wolfwise. If you are not sure whether or not you have filters please read this "How do I filter spam using server-side filters"
- Disable Groupwise foward rule, if applicable; otherwise this will create a loop. This only applies to users who already have a Groupwise account and have setup a Grouwise "rule" to forward Groupwise email to a unity Cyrus email account.
- Check OIT's WolfWise migration checklist.

If you will continue using Thunderbird or any thir-party IMAP client, make sure youu incoming IMAP security server setting is set to SSL on port 993. To set up Thunderbird for SSL secure connection:
- Open Thunderbird
- from the Tools menu. select Account Settings...
- Select "Server Settings" from the left panel
- Under the Security Settings section, click on SSL. By clicking on SSL, the Port number should change to 993.
- Click OK
- login to your Groupwise account with your Unity ID and Password
- If you get a warning about a an invalid security certficate, just click on continue or OK.
Migration Process
- All e-mail and calendar events will be migrated the weekend of June 5 through June 7. NCSU OIT will be handling this migration. Any questions regarding the migration to take place over this weekend should be directed to help@ncsu.edu
- Any e-mail that is stored in your "Local Folders" and is no longer on the IMAP server will be migrated after June 7.
- The process of migrating the local mail will be done by an IT-Staff Team member.

This process will go as follows:
- An IT-Staff member will contact you and arrange a time for us to copy your local mail onto our CSC servers where we can then begin the migration process.
- After this data has been copied please DO NOT alter anything in the "Local Folders" section of Thunderbird.
- Any changes made after the copy WILL NOT be reflected in WolfWise after we have migrated the local folders.

The IT-Staff member will make the migration of the local folders to WolfWise within 1-2 business days, depending on the amount of migration data.
- This will require that you login to our migration software to complete the migration.
- When the process is complete we will contact you, from there you should restart the GroupWise client.
- The migrated data will appear in your "Cabinets" folder.
Post Migration Issues experienced by Carlos B.
- Cannot connect to gwimap non-VPN way. This requirement shouldn't apply after the official migration takes place.
- OIT Spam Filter - "Individual" Message Blocked by M+ (this one had an attachtment file about Western Union). This seems to be trigered on spam email with attachment files.
- Server-side Filters : Sieve rules will not migrate.
- Encountered random duplicated messages.
