Dr. Matthew (Matt) Squire

During his career, Matt has proven to be a technical innovator. A recognized expert on Ethernet, MPLS, IP, ATM, private networking and VoIP, Matt holds nine patents and has more than 15 in the pipeline, many of them in the areas of efficient and reliable emulation of LAN services, virtual private networks, VoIP, and simplified configuration and provisioning systems.

Matt was a founder and chief architect at WindWire, where he designed and built WindWire‘s “Best of Breed” wireless ASP infrastructure.

Matt chairs the IEEE 802.3ah OAM work group and is the editor of the Metro Ethernet Forum‘s OAM document. Matt is also active in the T1/E1.4 and IETF. Additionally, Matt has held leadership positions in the ATM Forum and made numerous contributions to the IETF and ATM Forum.

He holds a doctor of philosophy degree in computer science from North Carolina State University and a bachelor‘s of arts degree in mathematics and computer science from Swarthmore College.
